Sustainable approaches to design

Yesterday Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) hosted a technical seminar

Yesterday Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) hosted a technical seminar covering sustainable approaches to design for our water sector. The event was excellent, thanks to the coordination by Sarah Morris despite the traffic related delay of lunch – but we soldiered on.

Personally, I made the trip to hear first-hand from Joshua Williams and Keeley-Ann Kerr on their N2O monitoring experiences, and Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water strategic focus within this emerging area. In addition, the work with Hydrogen generation from wastewater by Richard Chamley (and the spare oxygen spin-off) was insightful and exciting. On top of learning more about Power & Water Electrocoagulation offering for Phosphorus removal at small PE sites, as an alternative to ferric dosing while also avoiding the consumption of alkalinity. An added benefit was that Mr Bungay happened to attend as well.

Thank you to all that presented – it was a very good day and one that is evidencing that action is being taken and not just talked about. #sustainableengineering #nitrousoxide #wastewater #netzero
